            In the Fall of 1998, Appleby staff, students and teachers organized into six nations - Cayuga, Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Senaca and Tuscarora as part of a new Tribal system within the school for a variety of different events and tribal competitions.

            Item consists of a video of the 1941 Cadet Corps Inspection and Prizegiving Ceremony at Appleby College. Video has no sound. The Cadets parade around from 0.00 to 2.35 minutes. From 2.36 to 3.18 minutes the students are lined up in their sports jackets and white duck pants for Prizegiving Ceremony presentations. From 3.19 to 3.33 the Cadets march again. Throughout the video you can see several men in their military uniforms, as this is during World War 2.

            Series consists of a Head Prefect Acceptance letter, a 1976 report card, and several pins and cuff links related to John's time as a student at Appleby College. The series also contains a book awarded to John for the Headmaster's Special Award, as well as a blazer, rugby jersey, football jersey, and three ties.

            Item consists of a pair of cuff links. The cuff links are capped with a colour enamel Appleby College crest; on one link is engraved '1971' and the other '1976'. This gift was presented to John by his coach David 'Digger' Smith upon the completion of his final football season at Appleby. His football career began in grade 9 with the Under 15 team. In grade 10, John was selected to play on the First Team. He captained his last two years.

The file also includes a handwritten letter from Canadian artist Alex Colville thanking David for the book he sent. File also includes articles about the Black Magic Mime Group and the 2005 school production of Caesar.
            File also includes material related to the submission for The Prime Minister's award for teaching excellence, which David won in 1998.
            File also includes a conference program "Towards the Technology-integrated School" 1998 in which David presented.
