Fonds consists of a photograph scrapbook from original Appleby student Ford Stuart Strathy, and photographs of Alastair's time as a student at Appleby. Appleby College Alumni Association (ACAA)

Sub-series consists of the records of The Appleby Old Boys' Association and the Appleby College Alumni Association.

Though the first annual dinner was held in 1916, it was not until 1920 that The Old Boys' Association was formed when Old Boys G.W.S. Adams, T.G. Heaton, A.L. Ambrose, R.E. Haas, A.D. MacLean and A.H. Gillespie met to officially form the organization. As a result of coeducation, the name of the organization was changed to The Appleby College Alumni Association effective September 1, 1991.

Correspondence

Series consist of correspondence from Appleby College to Wentworth regarding the progress of the school, Wentworth’s donation of the school bell, invitations to events, updates on Appleby alumni, educational viewpoints, and historical information. It includes typed and written letters as well as a telegraph.

Correspondence

File consists of correspondence related to the history of Appleby College. It includes a 1917 letter inquiring about the sale of a bull, a postcard addressed to the school dated to 1918, a 1919 letter from Prince Edward - The Prince of Wales from his visit to Canada, a Christmas greeting letter from 1935 talking about the skating and ice conditions, a letter to Sir Edmund Walker regarding a suitable camp site for the students in 1920 (Camp Kushog - See Dec. 1920 Argus), a letter dated to 1938 discussing the cooking and food offerings at the school, reminiscences of school days gone by, the hanging of the new Canadian flag at Appleby College in 1965, and a letter dated to 1966 discussing the 1913-1914 prefects.

The file also includes correspondence regarding Miss Grindlay's photo album, correspondence from various alumni about their time at Appleby, correspondence about articles in the Quarterly and Argus including the school bell, as well as letters from family of alumni who may have donated items to the school archives. It also includes a sworn declaration regarding the history of McCraney House.

News of Appleby, Old Boys’ Association newsletter

File consists of Appleby Old Boys Association newsletter, News of Appleby. These newsletters were in addition to the Argus Yearbook. The 1943 newsletter details many Old Boys and their military status during World War Two. The 1947 newsletter providing information on The Building Campaign, The memorial window in The Chapel dedicated in memory to J. William Weis. It also includes personal updates for many Old Boys.

Newspaper Clippings

Sub-series consists of newspaper clippings about Appleby College and is divided into decades. It includes articles about Cadets, gymnastics, Sports Day, Closing Day, the Chapel, the death of Sir Edmund Walker - the co-founder of the school (oversized encapsulation), Track and Field, a fire at Appleby during the 1930's, the death of Samuel Clarke, the hanging of the new Canadian flag on campus, 55th anniversary of Appleby College, the retirement of Headmaster Dr. J.A.M. Bell, football, rugby, various guest speakers to the school.

Sub-series also includes an article by Wilder Breckenridge about what it was like at the school when it first opened in 1911; articles about the Diamond Jubilee celebrations and the building campaign including a new hospital and library; the introduction of girls from St. Mildred's Lightbourn School participating in the school plays at Appleby beginning in 1971; and what is like at a private school. There are articles about various school dramatic plays; swimming; squash teams; the suspension of a student for not following chapel protocol; 50 years of service for head chef Hilda Chattaway; student scholarships and graduating students attending MIT; accidents outside of the school on Lakeshore Road; the grand reopening of the renovated Colley House; Hockey; Cricket.

Old Boys’ Association

Series consist of correspondence, newsletters, and holiday greetings sent by Appleby’s Old Boys’ Association (now Alumni) to Wentworth, and newspaper clippings about Appleby Old Boys’ events.

Old Boys’ Association correspondence

File consists of correspondence between Wentworth Walker and the Appleby College Old Boys Association. It includes correspondence and brochures on the planned new gymnasium and swimming pool, the 1947 Building Campaign for the Memorial Building, scholarship fundraising and other Appleby College fundraising campaigns.

Pigskin Revival Dinner

File consists of records pertaining to the Pigskin Revival dinner held in 1992 to commemorate the Appleby College football teams from 1959 - 1969. The theme was 'Blue Grit' as these were some of the most successful football teams the school had ever had. The file includes correspondence, a commemorate booklet about each team and contact lists for alumni.

Quarterly 2014_WINTER

Item consists of the Winter 2014 edition of the Appleby Quarterly magazine. Item consists of articles about the Round Square conference, a look back at Appleby Athletics, an interview with Katherine 'Kitty' Stevens - daughter of John Guest, an interview with Appleby's Director of Finance - Young Nak Chu, an interview with Alumni Jack Langelaan '88. It also includes an article about Alumni Brianne Jenner '09 who was on Team Canada Women's Hockey Team. There is also an article about various Alumni who have become teachers including Michael DesRoches '62. It also includes an article about Appleby's historic link to Town of Oakville founder Colonel William Chisholm.

Quarterly 2019_Spring

Item consists of the Spring 2019 edition of the Appleby Quarterly magazine. It includes articles about the student mentorship program, the Alumni Guest Speaker Program, Appleby's thriving Advanced Placement (AP) and AP Capstone Diploma programmes, an interview with Faculty member Graham Lewis, updates on recent intercultural and experiential program trips to Cambodia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Macedonia and Eastern Europe, New Zealand, Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation, Panama, and Romania. It also includes an article about Appleby hosting the G30 Association conference, enhancements to the shoreline along Lake Ontario, an article about Faculty member Maggie Hanrahan, updates on the fundraising gala auction, the role of the Community Prefect and an interview with Alumni Evanka Osmak '98.

Fonds consists of material pertaining to Raymond's portrayal of Abraham Lincoln on stage and film and includes photographs of Abraham Lincoln, sketches of Raymond as Lincoln, framed playbill on the night of Lincoln's assassination, framed Republican national ticket for President Lincoln, TV Guide awards for Raymond's performance in Tyger, Tyger and Dr. Kildare, and correspondence.

Fonds also consists of the Raymond Massey Rare Book Collection which he bequeathed along with the rest of the items in the fonds.

Van donations

Note on verso: "New vans from Old Boys - Appleby College is the proud lessee of two new General Motors vans from two of its Old Boys. Tim Haines '63 (left) and Carl Ansingh '67 (far right), owners of two GM dealerships in Listowel and St. Thomas respectively, presented the vans to Director of Alumni Relations David Smith '53 and Headmaster Guy McLean. The blue vans will primarily be used for transporting boys to and from sports and other School events. The Appleby crest will be painted on to each van shortly." Item consists of a colour photograph of Andy Baird and Linda Larsen at their wedding. Note on verso: "Linda and Andy Baird '83 -- John Gray '82, Steve Mann '83 and Pete Senst '83 attended the wedding at the Beaver Valley Ski Club."
