Alan Sproule fonds

Fonds consists of two objects relating to alumni Alan Sproule (Class of 1955) and consists of a 50 year pin and a hymn book.

On December 4, 1949 he was confirmed in the Appleby College Chapel, with J.A. Bell as Headmaster. His parents gifted him the hymn book for this occasion. An article about the event can be found in the 1950 Argus yearbook on page 9.

On the occasion of becoming part of the 50th Reunion Club in 2005, he was gifted the pin. An article and picture appear in the Summer 2005 Appleby Quarterly magazine.

Whittington, Same Clarke, Mr. Adams and Miss Bird, as well as Appleby students, and the campus.

The collection also includes an Appleby Colours jacket, a First XV Rugby team jersey, a First Football team jersey, school ties, custom silver cuff-links, school pins awarded for academic achievement and athleticism, a Lieutenant Governor's Silver medal, and a book prize.

There are also 6 photographs taken at Camp Ipperwash Cadet camp along with 4 newspaper articles about the camp Stuart attended with other Appleby College Cadets in the summer of 1953. There are also several photographs of Stuart and friends at Sports Day as well as Cadet Inspection. Fonds also includes several programmes for Sports Day and a dramatic society production in 1950.
