        Series consists of a scrapbook created by John highlighting his time at Appleby College from 1971-1976. It includes copies of photographs, original photographs, pamphlets for school plays, and photographs of the pins, ties and jerseys he donated to the Archives. The scrapbook is divided into the following areas: Football, Rugby, Clubs, Sports Day, Choir, Italy trip, Head Prefect, Dramatic Club and school plays.

        Football:
        Scrapbook contains a photograph of the 1971 Under 15 football team (original photograph appears on pg. 42 of the 1971-1972 Argus yearbook). John is in the front row wearing jersey #16.         Scrapbook includes copied photographs of the 1975 Form 12 E class as well as the 1975 Argus editors (original photographs on pg. 20 and 2 respectively in the 1974-1975 Argus yearbook).

        Sports Day:
        Scrapbook contains the June 1975 Sports Day programme along with a copied photograph of the 1975 Interhouse Tug of War (original photograph on pg. 126 of the 1974-1975 Argus yearbook).

        Choir:
        Scrapbook contains a copied photograph of the 1976 Appleby choir listing member names (original photograph on pg. 32 of the 1975-1976 Argus yearbook).

        Italy:
        Scrapbook contains a copied photograph of students on the Italy trip in March 1976 (original photograph on pg. 37 of the 1975-1976 Argus yearbook).

        Walker House:
        Scrapbook contains a copied photograph of Walker House students and staff (original photograph on pg. 138 of the 1975-1976 Argus yearbook).

        Head Prefect:
        Scrapbook contains a copied photograph of John's graduation year writeup in the 1976 Argus yearbook with the note: "Graduation photo from Argus 1976. (Text by my friend Jim Wetmore; photo by Michael Desroche)" (original photograph on pg. 14 of the 1975-1976 Argus yearbook). It also includes two copied photographs of John during the school year, one during the graduation ceremony in June 1976 (original photographs appear on pgs. 28 and 134 of the 1975-1976 Argus yearbook).

        Hockey:
        Scrapbook includes a copied photograph of the 1976 Second Hockey team listing player names (original photograph on pg. 90 of the 1975-1976 Argus yearbook), it also includes an original photograph of the 1973 Second Hockey team with the note: "second hockey team, 1973, coach: Mr. David Manbert)." This photograph assigned photo number PH01-0102.

        School plays:
        Scrapbook contains John's copy of The Mikado script with the following note: My copy of the script from "The Mikado" which was staged in April 1975. Annotated with my stage directions, and those of Mr. Michael DesRoches, the very talented Director of our production. Mr. DeRoches was the one who offered me the opportunity to do this work." It includes the programme for The Mikado, along with a letter in an envelope with the following note: "Tracey, Here's a nice note that related to my days as stage manager of the annual operetta production. It's from Robin Woodward a then student at St. Mildred Lightborn School. We worked the stage together for 3 major productions. She sent me this after our work on "The Mikado" in 1975." Scrapbook also contains items relating to a one act play "Fool's Errand. John has attached the following note: "Items relating to a One-Act-Play Festival for Independent Schools. Appleby's entry was "Fool's Errand", directed by Michael Crabb (who was then my history teacher, now he is an arts producer and commentator at CBC radio). I was involved as Stage Manager for this project."

        Original photographs:
        Scrapbook contains an original photograph of students in Walker house in 1974, as well as 23 photographs of the March 1975 student trip to Lake Temagami and the Northern Campus. Note attached to the Northern Campus photographs: "23 small colour photos all from one roll of film - taken in March 1975 at the Northern Campus. Bruce Peart and I were co-leaders for this session of winter Northward Bound." It also includes a letter and envelope from Rabbit Nose Lodge where John worked for one summer at Lake Temagami. A note attached reads: "My mother saved this item - a letter to my family sent from the Northern Campus in June 1975. I was employed there for the summer working as a leader at Appleby's summer camp sessions on Rabbit Nose Island."
        Scrapbook also contains four original photographs of John on the sail training vessel 'Pathfinder'. He includes this note: "Mr furling sails aloft on the sail-training vessel "Pathfinder" out of Toronto. Do I look sea-sick in this photo? I certainly was at the time (1974)."
        Scrapbook also contains photographs of the pins, jerseys and ties that John donated to Appleby. There are also a few pages of typed memories as well as a brief biography of life after Appleby.

        Sub-series consists of newspaper clippings about Appleby College and is divided into decades. It includes articles about Cadets, gymnastics, Sports Day, Closing Day, the Chapel, the death of Sir Edmund Walker - the co-founder of the school (oversized encapsulation), Track and Field, a fire at Appleby during the 1930's, the death of Samuel Clarke, the hanging of the new Canadian flag on campus, 55th anniversary of Appleby College, the retirement of Headmaster Dr. J.A.M. Bell, football, rugby, various guest speakers to the school.

        Sub-series also includes an article by Wilder Breckenridge about what it was like at the school when it first opened in 1911; articles about the Diamond Jubilee celebrations and the building campaign including a new hospital and library; the introduction of girls from St. Mildred's Lightbourn School participating in the school plays at Appleby beginning in 1971; and what is like at a private school. There are articles about various school dramatic plays; swimming; squash teams; the suspension of a student for not following chapel protocol; 50 years of service for head chef Hilda Chattaway; student scholarships and graduating students attending MIT; accidents outside of the school on Lakeshore Road; the grand reopening of the renovated Colley House; Hockey; Cricket.

        Item consists of a colour photograph of participants in the Old Boys' Spring Sports Day standing and sitting on the grass outside on the grounds on a sunny, spring day. Note on verso: "Old Boys' Spring Sports Day from Digger's Diary - Despite several evenings of advance practise, the Old Boys' softball team just couldn't snatch a victory. They eventually lost to the current team, 14-6." This event is described in The Appleby Quarterly (July 1990, vol. 12, no. 4).

The ledger starts in 1911 when Rugby, Hockey and Cricket were played at the school. It lists Head Prefects for some years, along with the results of the Annual Sports Day events. For some years it also lists who the winner was for various trophies and sports awards. Some years also list the results of Inter-house competitions, as well as who were the leaders in the Cadets.
