Staff are seated in the front row in the middle. Mr. Dewar, Rev. Bell, Mr. Colley, Mr. Hardwick are in the middle. Mr. Leslie Bott is the second person to the right of Mr. Hardwick. The female staff are (left to right): Miss Lightbourn, the school nurse Miss Mona Niblett, and possibly Miss Rose James.

Item consists of a colour photograph of Audrey Lightbourn at Appleby College. Note on verso: "We were delighted to find Miss Audrey Lightbourn still alive and well. Miss Lightbourn was the school secretary for 21 years, beginning in the 1934-35 school year under Headmaster Percival Wickens. She can still get around a little bit, but the grounds are quite extensive for a 99-and-a-half year old to walk! Alumni Director David Smith took her around and she spent a lovely afternoon seeing the campus." This event was described in The Appleby Quarterly (July 1992, vol. 14, no. 2).

Note on verso: "Co-ordinator of Junior School English David Boyd recently celebrated the release of his three new children's novels with a reception at Appleby. Boyd, who is in his 16th year of teaching at the school, has produced several plays for Appleby boys to perform, and published his first novel for children last May. The new books, called Spellbound!, The Danger Beneath and Earthwatch, are published by Oakville's Rubicon Publishing Ltd. Appleby parent Maggie Goh heads the company. Boyd, shown here discussing business with his editor Elizabeth Siegel, is currently working on another ambitious literary project: a trilogy set in medieval England, Niagara Falls in 1870 and Paris in 1940." Note on verso: "Speaking of anniversaries, Michael DesRoches '62 (centre, photo) was officially inducted into the "Appleby College Quarter Century Club" in June. Michael began teaching English at Appleby in 1967, and has since handled - at one time or another - the Alumni, Communications and Development offices. He established the Archives Club, and has since managed to create a substantive documentary of Appleby's history. He was also one of the founding editors of The Appleby Quarterly. Two other members of the staff deserve special recognition for having served the school for 25 years. Gina Stampone (see photo, left) and Coby Nieuwpoort (right)."
