Several buildings can be seen in the background. The photograph was taken by Panoramic Camera Co., Toronto.

Staff are seated in the front row in the middle. Sergeant Major S. Clarke is in hat and military uniform, Mr. Hardwick is to his right. Mr. Leslie Bott is second to his right. Mr. Dewar, Rev. Bell, Mr. Colley, are seated in the middle.

The female staff are at the far right of the staffing row are (left to right): Miss Chamberlain, Miss Lightbourn, Miss Mona Niblett (the school nurse), [possibly Miss Rose James], [possibly Miss Kathleen Marsden].

Buildings in the photograph include Powell's House, the Gymnasium, the Chapel, Colley House, the grass tennis courts and behind the trees you can just see the Headmaster's house and the infirmary. The covered rink, which collapsed in January 1945, does not appear to be in the photograph. The flag pole is visible as are several student throwing a football around.

Item consists of a black and white panoramic photograph in four photos of the Appleby College Campus around 1914. There does not appear to be a barn in the photograph, which means it was taken after the barn fire of November 1913, but before the new barn was built. Also in the photograph is School House (now Colley House), and the Headmaster's house, which was built in the summer of 1913. There are other farm buildings in the picture as well.

Note written on verso: "Bill Adams in charge of fruit trees, vegetables and gardening. He came with Mr. Guest from UCC, an old faithful who from the front looked like Beams father's caricature of the British Tommy 'Old Bill' - of the French warfare joke, 'If you know a better ole, go to it'.
