Note on verso: "Old Boys' Spring Sports Day from Digger's Diary - Despite several evenings of advance practise, the Old Boys' softball team just couldn't snatch a victory. They eventually lost to the current team, 14-6." This event is described in The Appleby Quarterly (July 1990, vol. 12, no. 4).

Item consists of a colour photograph of the Old Boys' Hockey team at the Early Bird Hockey Tournament hosted by Lakefield College School. Note on verso: "Old Boys compete in Early Bird Hockey Tournament - Our Old Boys' Hockey team accepted an invitation to join six other ISAA alumni teams in a two-day tournament hosted by Lakefield College School in early November. Coordinator Paul Sustronk '81 somehow managed to assemble the following Old Boys at the ungodly hour of 8:30 a.m. for an opening game against the Lakefield B team: Bill Beasley '77; Tom Lytle and Lang Moffat '78; Donald Green and Graham Stuart '79; Gordon Moffat, Pat Bates and Rick Withey '82; John Charron '83; Mark Barr '84; and Greg Sikora '87. Our results were Appleby 4, Lakefield B 1; St. Andrew's (the eventually winners) 8, Appleby 1; Lakefield A 4, Appleby 3. Good fun and camaraderie prevailed throughout. Thank you, Lakefield College, for an enjoyable weekend." This event is also described in The Appleby Quarterly (December 1990)

Item is a photograph portrait of who is believed to be Old Boy General George W. Robinson. George was born on Dec. 7, 1907 and died on June 11, 1971. He attended Appleby from 1919 to 1927. He was appointed to the Appleby Board of Governors on Oct. 30, 1947. His son George William (Billy) Robinson also attended Appleby.
