The brochure discusses the new Powell's House residence, built in 1918 after the late Major V.H. De Butts Powell. Though the first annual dinner was held in 1916, it was not until 1920 that The Old Boys' Association was formed when Old Boys G.W.S. Adams, T.G. Heaton, A.L. Ambrose, R.E. Haas, A.D. MacLean and A.H. Gillespie met to officially form the organization. As a result of coeducation, the name of the organization was changed to The Appleby College Alumni Association effective September 1, 1991.
