Series consists of books from the Raymond and Dorothy Massey rare book library that Raymond bequeathed to Appleby College on his death. The collection consists of books pertaining to the following genres: fiction, non-fiction, literature and poetry, history and politics, religion, war and Abraham Lincoln.

Material includes sketches of Raymond Massey portrayal of Abraham Lincoln for the stage play “Abe Lincoln in Illinois”, letter from playwright Robert Sherwood, photographs of Abraham Lincoln, reproduction limited edition print of President Abraham Lincoln painted by President Dwight Eisenhower, republican national electoral
ticket from Lincoln’s time, newspaper clippings of Lincoln’s assassination, and a framed playbill of Ford’s theatre on the night of Lincoln’s assassination.

Sub-series consists of records pertaining to hymns, prayers and the chapel service and includes the School Hymn, and various prayers. Sub-series includes one file: Service Book.

Fonds consists of four series; education of Wentworth’s schooldays at Appleby, Old Boys’ Association, correspondence and the Walker Family series, which consist of family heritage pieces related to Appleby College. Of note is a child’s table and chair set that was made by Appleby’s founder and Wentworth’s uncle, John Guest.
