Item consists of the Appleby School article, by Capt. O.J. Aldom, reproduced from Municipal Review of Canada journal. It discusses the history of Appleby College, Sir Edmund Walker, John Guest, Major Vernon Harcourt de Butts Powell, the founding of the school, the different buildings on campus including Powell's House, School House (now Colley House), the chapel, the barn, the covered ice rink, cadets, gymnastics, Sports day as well as academics.
Item consists of the June 1961 Argus yearbook. It provides a history of the school on the 60th anniversary and includes an article recalling what the school was like in the first years (1911-1913), including the barn fire.
It also includes articles on field trips to the General Mills Company, Continental Can Company and aboard the 'Gordon C. Leitch'.
