            Item consists of AV-26 - part 1 of the Appleby School Travel Club 1932 European Tour trip. It starts with the Appleby School Gymnastics team and then moves on to the European tour with departure from Toronto and Montreal and arrival in the UK. It also includes several World War 1 sites in and around Ypres, Nieuport and Ghent, Belgium.

            File consists of histories written about the John Bell Chapel at Appleby College. It includes several copies of The Chapel History: 1919 - 1968 by Headmaster John Bell (1972), a history of the chapel written by Frances Ahern for The Oakville Historical Society (1970), The John Bell Chapel at Appleby College: A brief history by Michael DesRoches (1989). It also includes brief histories on The Canada Window and Hilda's Window. File also includes a brochure about the history of the chapel. File also includes a newspaper clipping about the recovery of a stolen altar cross from Appleby College.

            Turquand Cup

            The Turquand Cup for Boxing was given in memory of Aubrey de Vere Arnold Turquand who was the first Appleby Old Boy to give his life in World War 1. This prized trophy was awarded to the heavyweight champion during the annual boxing tournament.

            The trophy reads: Appleby School logo / The / Turquand Cup / for Boxing / Presented By / A. De V.A. Turquand / March 1916.

            The first winner of the Cup was J.S. Scully, who also took home a smaller cup to remember the occasion (see June 1916 Argus).

            Item consists of the W.R. Wright Memorial Challenge Cup for tennis. Front of trophy reads: Appleby School logo / W. H. Wright, Memorial / Challenge Cup. Back of trophy reads: Presented by / Mrs. H.P. Wright / March, 1918.

            Given in memory of William "Billy" Richard Wright who was the second Appleby Old Boy to give his life during the Great War. Billy was an original student at Appleby and Head Prefect in his final year. He died on May 13, 1917 at the age of 19.

            First name inscribed on trophy reads: "1922 P.R.S. walsham (S) - from School House. According to the December 1918 Argus yearbook, the first winner of the trophy was C.E.N. Kaulbach.

            File consists of records pertaining to the Chapel Choir and includes programmes and service booklets as well as sheet music. It also includes a booklet from the 1991 European Choir Tour as well as the 2002 Cantus Chamber Choir group.

            The file also includes sheet music for the songs "The Bells of St. Mary's", an early version of "O Canada" and Canticles, Communion Service and extra hymn tunes.

            File also includes a booklet of Appleby College Chapel music for Royse Communion Services, Canticles and Hymns.

            War Memorials

            File consists of a drawing of a memorial stained glass window design by Robert McCausland Limited to honour the alumni who gave their life in World War 1. The file also includes a memorial service program for the Nov. 10, 1940 Town of Oakville service in which Appleby Cadets were involved.

            Item consists of a black and white photograph of Mary Kavanagh with her daughter, Mary Byerley (left), relatives of alumnus Aubrey DeVere Turquand, who died in World War I standing with Director of Alumni David Smith (class of 1953) (right). In the centre, a plaque is featured on the Memorial Classroom Building to honour those from Appleby College who died in World War I. This event was described in The Appleby Quarterly (April 1994, vol. 15, no. 3).

            File consists of records relating to the dedication of the John Bell Chapel at Appleby College on November 7, 1929 and includes an invitation and several dedication service programs. The back of the service program contains an Honour roll listing those students and faculty who died in World War 1. The Chapel was originally built as a memorial to those who lost their life in World War 1.

            File consists of records relating to the stained glass windows in the John Bell Chapel and include the dedication service programmes for: The Coronation Window (1984), Old Boy's Memorial Window (1934), Arthur Thomas and Lillie Edyth Little Memorial Window (1997), The Alpha and Omega Windows (2000), Ashevak window (2004). It also includes email correspondence regarding the Little Memorial Window in 1997.

            File consists of records pertaining to the chapel organ in the John Bell Chapel at Appleby College. It includes correspondence regarding the purchase and installation of the original Casavant organ which was installed by the Woodstock Pipe Organ Builders Ltd., as well as the purchase and installation of the Organ Screen by The Globe Furniture Co. Ltd. There is also correspondence with Lady Edith Baillie, who donated funds for the purchase of the screen. There is also correspondence from Violet Walker who donated funds for the purchase of the organ. There is also information on the organ as well as invoices for parts and labour.

            File consists of Appleby Old Boys Association newsletter, News of Appleby. These newsletters were in addition to the Argus Yearbook. The 1943 newsletter details many Old Boys and their military status during World War Two. The 1947 newsletter providing information on The Building Campaign, The memorial window in The Chapel dedicated in memory to J. William Weis. It also includes personal updates for many Old Boys.
