          Series consists of a scrapbook of Appleby College material compiled by Bill Sefton. It includes correspondence from the Alumni Association about various fundraising initiatives, invitations to Alumni events, including the 50 year club, greeting cards, a report card from Easter 1932, John Bell Chapel service programs, correspondence with other alumni, Appleby College Old Boys Association membership cards, newspaper clippings about Hilda Chattaway include photographs of her grave and a letter explaining how to find the grave, invitation to the official opening of Colley House in 1990, newspaper clippings about Appleby events including the visit from Prince Andrew, the 1991 Tour of Appleby College choir to Europe, an article written by Bill about how he got his first job in 1937 at Loblaws and his career there. The scrapbook also includes 45 photographs (PH01-0135 - PH01-0178) of Appleby College and people associated with Appleby.

          Item consists of a trophy presented by Peel Music Festival for Boys Choir Unchanged voices. Awarded in 1919 - 1921.

          The Boy’s Choir – Unchanged voices trophy from the Peel Music Festival was first awarded to Appleby College in 1950. The choir would also win the trophy in 1951 and 1952. Led by choirmaster Mr. Lesley Bott, the choir would go on to win other awards at the Peel Music Festival, including the top school choir in 1952.

          The Archives collection holds a photograph (see AC01_0916) of three students holding the trophy in 1950-1951.

          The trophy as it stands today is on the wrong base. At some point in the past, the trophy was removed from the base as seen in the photograph and placed on the base it is now on, which has the wrong dates.

          The file also includes sheet music for the songs "The Bells of St. Mary's", an early version of "O Canada" and Canticles, Communion Service and extra hymn tunes.

          Sub-file includes the Coronation Programme for the Commonwealth Youth Movement listing all Canadian performers and includes photographs and a schedule of events, as well as a menu for the visit to Royal Festival Hall on June 3rd, 1953, the programme for Empire Youth Sunday on May 17, 1953 and the Saint Paul's Cathedral Empire Youth Service on May 17th, 1953.

          Sub-file also includes postcards showing the different cathedrals and schools that the Appleby Coronation Choir performed at in England.

          Sub-file consists of a railway ticket, the ship manifest/passenger list, postcards and documentation relating to the ships that the choir travelled on to and from England, 'Empress of Australia' and the 'Columbia'.

          Sub-file also includes a theatre ticket, a day pass into Westminster Abbey, as well as permits for visiting Buckingham Palace.

          Coronation Choir

          File consists of records pertaining to the Appleby College Coronation Choir. The school Chapel Choir, under the direction of Choir Master E. Leslie Bott, was invited to perform at the Commonwealth Youth Movement Service as part of the Coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in June 1953. Appleby College was one of a select few Canadian groups invited to attend this event. In addition to performing at the June 7, 1953 Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey, which was recorded, the choir performed a total of nineteen full concerts during their six weeks in Great Britain.

          In addition to this, they sang at Services in nine Parish Churches, performed in five Public Schools and made two appearances on the BBC. The Appleby College Coronation Choir performed at the Cathedrals of Winchester, Chichester, St. Mary's (Edinburgh), Yorkminster and St. Albans and also sang a special Service of Dedication for Commonwealth Youth - At St. George's Chapel, Windsor, on June 1st.

          In between singing, the group was able to tour around England and Scotland, and were in the stands during the actual Coronation ceremony on June 2nd, 1953. The group was also invited to attend the Changing of the Guard ceremony in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace on the day the Canadian Regiments took over.

          Thirty years after the Choir performed, they held a reunion in 1983 at Appleby College and performed as a group once again.

Bell, football, rugby, various guest speakers to the school.
